Spartan Tech Spotlight

Last month, Bonnie Montana (pictured below assisting second grade student Maryrose Mauro) shared tips for using older classroom computers to access engaging educational websites. Twelve teachers joined Mrs. Montana for this workshop that was held at Hughes Elementary School. Bonnie will be offering this course again sometime this fall. Look for a flyer from the Teacher Center in the next few weeks to catch this course when its offered again. Way to go, Bonnie!

Believe it or not, you can download graphics directly from the web into your iPhoto library, making them instantly available for any of your iLife applications! Here's how:

  1. Locate an image on the web you want to add to iPhoto using the Safari web browser.
  2. Put your pointer over the image that you want to download.
  3. Control-click (hold down the Control key on the keyboard and then click with your mouse button) and choose Add Image to iPhoto Library from the pop-up menu that appears.
  4. Safari will then download the image, open iPhoto, and import the image into your Library for you to use as you wish!

This website has loads of great templates in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint formats! There are lots of great files you that can be downloaded for instant use in your classroom.
